The ZooNation Dance Company is bringing a newly revamped production titled Into The Hoods: Remixed to London’s Peacock Theatre from the 23rd October. This new adaptation of the 2008 award-winning show will be directed by Sadler’s Wells’ Associate Artist Kate Prince, before embarking on a UK tour in 2016.

Using the trademark narrative hip hop dance theatre style, in this production ZooNation tells the story of two school children who are lost in the ‘Ruff Endz Estate’. The children are tasked by the landlord to find an iPod touch as white as milk, trainers as pure as gold and a hoodie as red as blood. Along their journey, they encounter a number of different characters such as DJ Spinderella and wannabe singer Lil Red.

The original production of Into the Hoods won a What’s on Stage Award for Best Ensemble Performance and an Olivier nomination for Best Theatre Choreography. This much admired show still has plenty of charm and wit but has been updated with new designs, costumes and remixed soundtrack suitable for a 2015 audience.

Featuring the music of the likes of James Brown, Queen Latifah and Jayz, the production includes the talents of Natasha Gooden, Duwane Taylor, Corey Culverwell and Mikey Ureta.

Behind the scenes, the creatives include: musical direction by Danilo ‘DJ’ Walde, set design by Ben Stones, video design by Andrzej Goulding, costume design by Ben Stones and Russell Royer and lighting design by Andy Murrell.
