Preview: Annie the Musical @New Victoria Theatre, Woking

Family favourite musical Annie arrives at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking from the 17th to the 21st November, starring Craig Revel Horwood as Miss Hannigan (17th-20th) and Lesley Joseph as Miss Hannigan on Saturday 21st November.

Set in New York during the Great Depression, Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. Determined to find her parents, Annie’s luck changes when she is selected to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. But the spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plot to stop Annie’s search…

Craig Revel Horwood is best known to television audiences as one of the judges on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. His West End theatre credits include appearances in Cats at the New London Theatre, Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and Crazy for You at the Prince Edward Theatre.

Meanwhile, Lesley Joseph is best known for her role as Dorien Green in Birds of a Feather, also starring Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson. Her other touring credits include Calendar Girls and Hot Flush.

They are joined in the cast by Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks, Holly Dale Spencer as Grace Farrell, Jonny Fines as Rooster and Djalenga Scott as Lily.

Featuring memorable songs such as ‘It’s a Hard Knock Life’ , ‘Easy Street’ and of course ‘Tomorrow’, the production is directed by Nikolai Foster and features set and costume designs by Colin Richmond.
