Rehearsal images for the Hampstead Theatre’s upcoming production of Tom Stoppard’s Hapgood have been released.
Opening for previews at the theatre from the 4th December, the plot is set in London in 1988 as the Cold War reaches its end game. But somebody in spymaster Elizabeth Hapgood’s (Lisa Dillon) network is leaking secrets. To find out if her star double agent is in fact a triple, she sets a trap that becomes a hall of mirrors in which the betrayal is personal.
The production is directed by Howard Davies, whose credits include 55 Days at the Hampstead Theatre and Temple at the Donmar Warehouse. Hapgood is written by acclaimed playwright Tom Stoppard whose plays include: The Coast of Utopia and Jumpers.
As well as Lisa Dillon in the title role, the cast also includes: Gary Beadle, Nick Blakeley, Joe Evans, Edward Hancock, Gerald Kyd, Tim McMullan, Alec Newman and Adam Cansfield.
