Running at Victoria Park in East London until the 23rd December, this alternative festive town has plenty to offer families over the Christmas period.

There are plenty of attraction, food and drink stalls as well as an extensive programme of events to keep people entertained.

It opened its gates to the public on the 26th November, when lights were switched on, film screenings opened with a screening of Love Actually  and in the Spiegeltent Cirque du Cabaret wowed audiences.

Visitors can also visit the Christmas markets with a wide range of items available to buy and sample. While for those wanting to be a little more active can pay a visit to the ice rink or have a go on some of the rides for a bit of a thrill.

While entry to Winterville is free, visitors can buy tickets to individual shows and attractions in advance for £5 via http://winterville.co.uk/ . It is highly recommended that if you wish to visit attractions such as the ice rink or cinema that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

There is no parking available nearby so it is also recommended that you use public transport. The nearest tube is Mile End (District Line/Central Line) and you can take a bus or take the 20 minute walk to Victoria Park.

Winterville is on at Victoria Park in East London until the 23rd December.
