Christmas is over and as things begin to get back to normal, lets take a closer look at some of the West End Shows we can look forward to this month:
Guys and Dolls, Savoy Theatre: after its successful run at the Chichester Festival Theatre, the production arrived at London’s Savoy Theatre from the 10th December. Filled with classic songs and choreography by Carlos Acosta, this is a musical that you don’t want to miss. Opens 6th January. Richard II, Barbican Theatre: David Tennant returns to this title role for a limited time only from the 7th to the 22nd of January. The play shows how even a king has human weaknesses and can ultimately lead his country into disaster. It is directed by Gregory Doran and features designs by Stephen Brimson Lewis.
Eddie Izzard: Force Majeure Reloaded, Palace Theatre: after nearly three years of travelling the world and performing in 28 countries (as well as four languages), Eddie Izzard arrives back home to perform at the Palace Theatre for four weeks. Escaped Alone, Royal Court Theatre: Caryl Churchill returns to the Royal Court with a play about three old friends and a neighbour, who spent plenty of summer afternoons in the back yard – cue lots of tea and catastrophe. The production is directed by James MacDonald and opens 21st January.
The Master Builder, Old Vic Theatre: David Hare has adapted this new production of Henrik Ibsen’s play, which stars Ralph Fiennes as Halvard Solness.
