It has been announced that theatre and television star Catherine Tate and forthcoming star of Aladdin: The Musical Dean John-Wilson will lead the cast in Miss Atomic Bomb at St James Theatre from the 7th March.
Miss Atomic Bomb is a musical comedy, inspired by the bomb tests and beauty pageants of the era, co-directed by choreographer Bill Deamer and Adam Long.
Set in Las Vegas in 1952, Miss Atomic Bomb begins at a time when the US military proudly tests its atomic bombs within sight of the Vegas strip. The tourists are flocking to cheer the blasts as well as to see who will be crowned Miss Atomic Bomb Beauty Queen.
However, in the middle of all this farm girl Candy’s sheep are all dying, her friend Myrna is designing clothes for pigs, soldier Joey has deserted the army and his brother hotel manager Lou is looking for an atomic gimmick.
Featuring original songs by Adam Long, Gabriel Vick and Alex Jackson-Long, with musical supervision and orchestrations by Matthew Brind, this is the world premiere of this brand new musical comedy.
As well as Catherine Tate and Dean John-Wilson, the cast will also feature: Florence Andrews, Simon Lipkin, Daniel Boys, Michelle Andrews, Stephane Anelli, Charles Brunton, Jessica Buckby, Cavin Cornwall, Olivia Fines, Ryan Gover, Alyn Hawke, Sion Lloyd, Suzie McAdam, Kirk Patterson and Sasi Strallen.
