Directed by Matthew Gould and produced by Giant Cherry Productions, this latest production follows the company’s sell-out success of The Glass Protege at the Park Theatre last year.

It’s Spring 2003 and Essex grandmother Lynnie has escaped her nursing home and fled 5000 miles across the Atlantic to Hollywood, Los Angeles, where she plans to reveal to the world her deepest secret – that she is Marilyn Monroe, alive and well after faking her death decades before. As her gay grandson Joe turns up to take her home, he finds himself embroiled in his grandmother’s scheme, questioning his sanity as he wonders whether he really can be the grandson of Marilyn Monroe. But is Lynnie really Marilyn? Or just a crazy old lady wanted to avoid ending her days alone inside a nursing home?

The production will see Vicki Michelle starring as Lynnie, Farrel Hegarty (Marilyn/Norma Jeane/Carla), Jamie Hutchins (Joe) and Peter McPherson (Bobby). The creative team for Hello Norma Jeane includes: set designs by Zoe Hammond, costumes designed by Sissy Stenimachali and lighting designed by Joshua Sung.

Dylan Costello is the Artistic Director for production company Giant Cherry productions as well as writing for stage, film and television. Hello Norma Jeane is his fourth play.

Matthew Gould has directed many plays and musicals including Midnight (St James Theatre, studio) and The Glass Protege (Park Theatre).

Hello Norma Jeane will appear at the Park Theatre from the 23rd February until the 19th March.
