New pictures have been released for the West End transfer of Nell Gwynn, which opens for previews at the Apollo Theatre from the 4th of February.

Following a critically acclaimed run at the Shakespeare’s Globe, Jessica Swale’s new play based on the life of one of England’s first actresses and mistress of King Charles II transfers to the Apollo Theatre next week.
Starring Gemma Arterton in the title role, Nell Gwynn is directed by Christopher Luscombe and is designed by Hugh Durrant with music by Nigel Hess.

It is 1660. The Puritans have run away with their drab grey tails between their legs. Charles II has exploded onto the scene with a love of all things loud, French and sexy. And at Drury Lane, a young Nell Gwynn is selling oranges for sixpence. Little does she know who’s watching.
As well as Gemma Arterton, the production will also star Greg Haiste as Edward Kynaston, Peter McGovern as Ned Spigget, Michele Dotrice as Nancy and David Sturzaker as Charles II.

Nell Gwynn opens for previews from the 4th February and is booking until the 30th April 2016. To book tickets visit: UK Tickets.co.uk, Ticketmaster.co.uk, Discount Theatre.com, Last Minute.com, Theatre Tickets Direct.co.uk, Love Theatre.com and Theatre People.com.
