The fun-filled and energetic musical about one girl’s dream to dance on live television arrives at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking in March.

The hit musical that is warmhearted and filled with many memorable tunes arrives at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking from the 15th March to the 19th March as part of its ongoing UK tour.
It’s Baltimore, 1962 where Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, is on a mission to follow her dreams and dance her way onto national TV. Tracy’s audition makes her a local star and soon she is using her new-found fame to fight for equality, bagging local heartthrob Link Larkin along the way!
Olivier award nominated actor Peter Duncan will star as Wilbur Turnblad. He will be joined by Claire Sweeney as Velma Von Tussle and singer and West End performer Brenda Edwards as Motormouth Maybelle. Freya Sutton will return to the role of Tracy Turnblad, Jon Tsouras as Corny Collins. Ashley Gilmour stars as heartthrob Link Larkin and Kayton Williams as Duane. Casting for Edna Turnblad is yet to be announced.
Claire Sweeney is best known for her roles on stage in productions such as Chicago, Educating Rita, Legally Blonde and Tell Me on a Sunday.
Peter Duncan is best known for being a presenter on iconic television show Blue Peter. He went on to be nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance in The Card and has also starred in Barnum.
Brenda Edwards first came to public attention, when she appeared on The X Factor in 2005. Since then she has established herself as a musical performer, having appeared in Chicago and We will Rock You.
The musical originally opened to great acclaim on Broadway in 2002, going on to win eight Tony Awards. It opened at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London in 2007 and won four Laurence Olivier Awards including Best New Musical.
