This new London exhibition will coincide with the Saatchi Gallery’s Exhibitionism display devoted to The Rolling Stones as well as the release of a signed and limited edition book about Gered Mankowitz’s photographs.

Opening at the gallery on the 1st April, the display will feature a number of photographs that are iconic in the band’s history as well as those that have never been displayed before.

Key pieces from the archive will be displayed along with a number of works that have been reinterpreted – such as Mankowitz changing his 1965 passport photographs of the band to produce new a new artwork titled The Cross.

But the exhibition will also include photographs from all of Mankowitz’s main sessions with the band – including key album sessions.

Meanwhile, Backstage: The Rolling Stones is a book which features a number of previously unseen photographs taken by the photographer backstage when The Rolling Stones were at the height of their fame.

Many of the images in the exhibition and the book were taken during the period of 1965-1967, offering a more intimate and personal look at the band  as they became world famous.

Off the Hook appears at the Snap Galleries from the 1st April running until the 28th May. Meanwhile, Backstage: The Rolling Stones will be published by Ormond Yard Press in June. For more information on the book and the exhibition visit: http://www.snapgalleries.com/exhibitions/off-the-hook/
