Women in the West End is presented by the Anonymous is a Woman Theatre Company, a three week festival celebrating female creativity in the studio space at the Arts Theatre.
From the 14th March to the 3rd of April the Arts theatre studio space will filled with ideas and creativity brought to life by women.
Anonymous is a Woman have invited colleagues and friends including Deliciously Stella, Helen Duff (Vanity Bites Back), Emma Bentley (To She Or Not To She), Sphinx Theatre, Cariad Lloyd, Pippa Evans and Rudi Red to join them in showcasing the best of female thought, theatre, comedy and cabaret.
The theatre company was set up in response to the lack of opportunities for women in the theatre industry and Women in the West End is one way in which the company is bringing this to the attention of audiences.
Women in the West End will be headlined by two Anonymous is a Woman productions. F.A.N.Y tells the story of of female ambulance drivers on the front line during World War One and Nonsense and Sensibility is a unique twist on Jane Austen – a new play by Tom Crawshaw.
Alongside the productions will be a series of one night comedy shows, cabaret and a series of talks from some of the women working in business and the arts, creative workshops and networking opportunities.
The festival will also see the launch of Anonymous is a Woman’s initiative, 50/50, an evening of gender casting equality on stage.
