Tickets went on sale to priority bookers this morning and will be on general sale from 12 noon on the 1st April. For every performance, there will be 100 accessibly priced tickets, such as £20 seats available in advance and £15 day seats available on the day of the performance.

Opening for previews at the Savoy Theatre on the 19th November, the UK stage premiere of the production will see Glee star Amber Riley making her West End debut as Effie White, with further casting yet to be announced.

Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Disney’s Aladdin), Dreamgirls is inspired by the R&B music acts of the 1960’s, transporting audiences to a revolutionary time in America’s music history. The show charts the tumultuous journey of a young female singing trio, from Chicago, Illinois called ‘The Dreams’, as they learn the hard lesson that show business is as tough as it is fabulous.

Dreamgirls features book and lyrics by Tom Eyen, music by Henry Krieger, set design by Tim Hatley, Costume Design by Gregg Barnes, Lighting Design by Hugh Vanstone, Sound Design by Richard Brooker and Hair Design by Josh Marquette.

The original Broadway production directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett opened in 1981 and subsequently won six Tony Awards, before transferring to the big screen in 2006 with a film starring Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx.

Dreamgirls opens at the Savoy Theatre from the 19th November. To buy tickets when they go on general sale on 1st April at 12pm visit: Ticketmaster.co.uk, ATG Tickets, Theatre Tickets Direct.co.uk and Love Theatre.com.
