Casting for the European premiere of Rex Pickett’s comedy Sideways, directed by David Grindley has been announced.
Running at St James Theatre from the 26th May until the 9th July, this European premiere production is based on Pickett’s novel, which also inspired the Academy Award and Golden Globe wining film.
This bubbly and heartfelt comedy will include in its cast: Daniel Weyman, Simon Harrison, Ellie Piercy, Beth Cordingly, Anne Kavanagh, Kirsten Hazel Smith and Daniel Barry.
When a neurotic author, who is writing his way into a midlife-crisis, and an actor, who is marrying his way out of his, head out to Santa Barbara for a week of wine-tastings, they find out that there’s more to be savoured in California than a few new bottles. When Miles and Jack meet the equally strong and complex Maya and Terra, the four of them learn just how intoxicating a good glass of wine and good company can be – for better and for worse.
As well as being directed by David Grindley, the creative team also includes designs by Laura Hopkins, lighting by Mark Howland and sound by Fergus O’Hare.
Daniel Weyman’s (Miles) previous credits include The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby at the Chichester Festival Theatre and the Gielgud Theatre and Calico at the Duke of Yorks Theatre.
