Now into its 31st year in the West End, the smash-hit musical has announced new cast for the production, who will have their first performances from the 13th June.
From Monday 13th June, David Langham will play ‘Thénardier’ and Chris Cowley will play ‘Enjolras’. They join Peter Lockyer as ‘Jean Valjean’, Jeremy Secomb as ‘Javert’; Craig Mather as ‘Marius’; Rachelle Ann Go as ‘Fantine’, Eva Noblezada as ‘Eponine’; Katy Secombe as ‘Madame Thenardier’ and Zoë Doano as ‘Cosette’.
David Langham has most recently appeared on stage in Wendy and Peter Pan for the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Light Princess at the National Theatre.
Meanwhile, Chris Cowley’s recent theatre credits include performances in The Last Five Years at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich and Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London.
Les Miserables is currently the longest running musical in the world and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2015. It was produced by Cameron Mackintosh and features some of the most iconic songs in musical history such as ‘On My Own’, ‘Do You Hear the People Sing?’ and of course ‘I Dreamed a Dream’.
Directed by Trevor Nunn, the musical is about freedom, love and loyalty all set on the backdrop of the French Revolution and based upon Victor Hugo’s original novel.
The production has won countless awards in its 30 year history and this was added to with a WhatsOnStage Award 2016 for Best West End Show.
