Rehearsal Pictures Released of Cast of Aladdin

New images have been released of the cast of Aladdin in rehearsals as the new musical prepares to open at the Prince Edward Theatre in London next week.

As the transfer of the Broadway hit musical prepares for its opening performance in London next week, rehearsal images of the cast have been released.

The musical, which stars Dean John-Wilson as Aladdin and Jade Ewen as Jasmine, is based on the hit Disney film, which features hit songs such as ‘Friend Like Me’ and the timeless ‘A Whole New World’.

Previews will take place at the Prince Edward Theatre from Friday the 27th May, before officially opening on the 15th June. The show is currently booking until the 1st October 2016.

The Broadway transfer also sees Trevor Dion Nicholas making his West End debut in the role of Genie, a role he played to great success in New York. The cast also includes: Don Gallagher as Jafar, Peter Howe as Iago, Irvine Iqbal as the Sultan, Nathan Amzi as Babkak, Stephen Rahman-Hughes as Kassim and Rachid Sabitri as Omar.

The show features music from the original film, as well as new music written by Tony, Olivier and eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and

Aladdin is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, designed by seven-time Tony-winning scenic designer Bob Crowley,lighting is by five-time Tony-winning  Natasha Katz, costume designs by Olivier and two-time Tony-winning Gregg Barnes and sound design by Ken Travis.
