Cast Announced for The Stripper at St James Studio

St James Theatre has today confirmed casting for new musical whodunnit The Stripper, which runs in the studio from the 7th July until the 13th August.

Starting rehearsals today (13th June), casting for the production includes: Hannah Grover (Annabelle/ Sherry Mendez/ Sarah Arkwright), Gloria Onitiri (Deadpan Dolores/ Patty Keller), Marc Pickering (Doc Murphy/ Miles Rovak/ Harvey Stern), Michael Steedon (Sheriff Lavers / Jacob Arkwright/ Steve Loomas) and Sebastien Torkia (Al Wheeler).

The year 1961, the place Pine City, California and some broad is threatening to throw herself off the top of the fanciest hotel in town. There’s trouble brewing and Lieutenant Al Wheeler wants answers.

First stop, Club Extravaganza where we meet delectable Deadpan Dolores. Her name says it all… she’s not shy, so what’s she hiding?

As Wheeler is thrust into a sleazy underworld of strip-joints and lost lonely hearts, the truth isn’t the only thing he uncovers.

Based on Carter Brown’s story, The Stripper is directed by Benji Sperring (The Toxic Avenger) and features music and lyrics by Richard Hartley and Richard O’Brien – the creative team behind the immensely popular The Rocky Horror Show.

The creative team also includes set and costume design by Tim Shortall, choreography by Lucie Pankhurst, musical direction and arrangement by Alex Beetschen and lighting design by Nick Farman.

The Stripper is sponsored by Vivien of Holloway, who will supply a number of 1960’s inspired costumes. Vivien of Holloway, one of the longest running and most well-known vintage reproduction brands in the world, are five times winner of best repro brand at the London Vintage Awards and one of ES Magazine’s top 50 boutiques in London.
