The first of its kind, this running gallery includes seven pieces of art work on display for runners on Hampstead Heath as 10,000 pieces of art prepare to be hung at the Hampstead Art Fair.

Each of the works selected as part of the running gallery showcase the work of an artist who is featured in this year’s art fair. Pieces admired by people include a striking collage print of Audrey Hepburn by acclaimed print artist Maria Rivans, ‘Flying Pig’ by Daniel Sueiras Fanjul, whose latest collection explores ironies in Darwin’s Theory of Evolution – as well as works by graphic artist Chuck Elliot who explores relationships between colour, movement and light.

The Affordable Art Fair returns this week, with over 100 galleries showcasing original artwork valued between £100 and £5,000. This unique art fair has an accessible approach bringing art under £5,000 to its three UK locations: Battersea Park, Hampstead Heath, and Bristol. This concept offers first time buyers and serious collectors a unique opportunity to invest in art, and has become a global phenomenon with 15 fairs in 11 cities across several continents.

Speaking from the running gallery, Luci Noel, Fair Director at Affordable Art Fair Hampstead, said: “Art is a hugely powerful tool in inspiring people in their everyday lives, and so our aim with the Running Gallery was to give runners an added boost of wellbeing through the stunning use of colour and light found in the various pieces we chose to show.”

The instalment in Hampstead Heath will see  a number of artists display works that have been inspired by some of the UK’s biggest icons including the Queen, William Shakespeare and Kate Moss.

Affordable Art Fair will open its doors on Thursday 16 June, with the Charity Private View taking place on Wednesday 15 from 5:30pm – 9:30pm. For tickets to all dates and further information, visit: http://affordableartfair.com/hampstead/?gclid=CJ2Wxt7lp80CFTMo0wodS5ALxg
