Now in previews at the Playhouse Theatre, it has been confirmed that George Orwell’s 1984 will now be booking until the 29th October, adding an eight week extension to the original run.

Robert Icke , Duncan Macmillan and Daniel Raggett’s hugely successful production of George Orwell’s masterpiece is back in London for a limited season over the Summer period.
This Headlong, Nottingham Playhouse and Almeida Theatre production originally premiered at Nottingham Playhouse in September 2013. Since its original run at the Almeida Theatre, it has wowed audiences in both West End runs and on an international tour.

Considered to be the definitive book of the 20th century, 1984 is re-examined in this adaptation which explores surveillance, identity and why Orwell’s vision of the future is as relevant now as ever.
The production’s creative team includes set and costume design by Chloe Lamford, with lighting designed by Natasha Chivers, sound designed by Tom Gibbons and video designed by Tim Reid.
The cast includes Andrew Gower (Winston), Rosie Ede (Mrs Parsons). Further cast members include Joshua Higgott (Syme), Richard Katz (Charrington), Anthony O’Donnell (Parsons), Daniel Rabin (Martin), Catrin Stewart (Julia) and Angus Wright (O’Brien). Child will be alternated by Eve Benioff Salama, Cleopatra Dickens, Amber Fernee and India Fowler.
