The Last Five Years is a unique musical in terms of its structure, seeing the stories of Cathy and Jamie being told in opposite directions, with Jamie moving forward while Cathy moves backwards.
Jason Robert Brown is a three time Tony award winning composer-lyricist, known for musicals such as Honeymoon In Vegas, The Bridges of Madison County and 13.
Best known for playing the role of Eponine in the West End production and film of Les Miserables, Samantha Barks will play Cathy in the London revival of The Last Five Years. She has recently released her debut album and is currently on a UK tour.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Bailey is best known for his role in the hit ITV show Broadchurch. His stage credits include American Psycho (Almeida Theatre), Othello (National Theatre) and South Downs (Harold Pinter Theatre).
The Last Five Years originally premiered Off-Broadway in 2002, where it won the Drama Desk Award for Music and Lyrics. It had its London premiere in 2006 at the Menier Chocolate Factory.
