Directed by Patrick Marber, the production will see Freddie Fox, Amy Morgan, Clare Foster, Forbes Masson, Peter McDonald and Sarah Quist join the previously announced Tom Hollander in Stoppard’s play about art, love and revolution.

The play follows Henry Carr, an elderly gentleman who is reminiscing about Zurich in 1917 and explores his interactions with figures from history such as James Joyce and Lenin.

Travesties originally premiered at the Aldwych Theatre in the West End in 1974 in a production directed by Peter Wood for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

This new revival of Stoppard’s play will feature designs by Tim Hatley, lighting by Neil Austin and sound by and original music by Adam Cork.

Tom Hollander will play Henry Carr in the production. His previous stage credits include roles in: A Flea in Her Ear (Old Vic), The Hotel in Amsterdam, The Threepenny Opera (Donmar Warehouse) and  The Judas Kiss (Playhouse Theatre and Broadway).

Freddie Fox was most recently seen on stage in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Southwark Playhouse. Other credits include The Judas Kiss and and Hayfever – both in the West End.

Director Patrick Marber has previously directed productions of Dealer’s Choice (National Theatre/Vaudeville Theatre) and  Closer (National Theatre/Lyric Theatre/Broadway).

Travesties will play at the Menier Chocolate Factory from the 22nd September until the 19th November. For more information and to book tickets visit: https://www.menierchocolatefactory.com/Online/default.asp
