Bat Out of Hell is a new musical by Jim Steinman and will come to the stage in a production directed by Jay Scheib.

Based on the original album, which has sold 50 million albums, Bat Out of Hell the Musical has been described as a “romantic adventure about rebellious youth and passionate love against the backdrop of a post-cataclysmic city.”

As well as featuring all of the original songs from the Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman albums, the musical will also feature brand new music as well as hits such as ‘Dead Ringer For Love’ and ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now’.

Steinman has had plenty of experience of working in musical theatre, having collaborated with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the 1996 musical Whistle Down the Wind and the hit European musical Dance of the Vampires (Tanz der Vampire) which opened in Vienna in 1997, before transferring to Broadway.
