The final casting for the West End return of The Bodyguard has been confirmed, ahead of the musical opening at the Dominion Theatre on the 15th July.
Booking until the 7th January 2017, the musical based on the 1991 film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner will star Beverley Knight as Rachel Marron and Ben Richards as Frank Farmer.
Further casting will also include Rachel John(Nicki Marron), Carole Stennett (alternate Rachel Marron), Mark Holden (Bill Devaney), Alex Andreas (Tony),Dominic Taylor (Sy Spector), Matthew Stathers (Stalker) and Glen Fox (Ray Court).
The Bodyguard follows former Secret Service Agent Frank Farmer who is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker – both want to be in control of the situation but what they don’t expect is love. It features all of Whitney Houston’s biggest hits such as ‘Queen of the night’, ‘Saving All My Love’ and the iconic ‘I Will Always Love You’.
The production is directed by Thea Sharrock, with set and costumes by Tim Hatley, choreography by Karen Bruce and produced by Michael Harrison and David Ian.
This hit musical originally opened at the Adelphi Theatre in 2012, closing in August 2014 before embarking on a UK tour starring Alexandra Burke, which has just finished.
