Written and directed by Joe Wenborne, Broken Strings follows the story of Rose and David, who have never got on thanks to Rose feeling that daughter Susan married beneath her when she married David. But when Rose’s husband dies, Susan persuades her to come and live with them.

David reluctantly agrees, but things are turned once more on their head when Susan falls terminally ill. Her last words to her husband are: “Take care of Mum, promise me you won’t put her in a home…”.

Broken Strings is a heartwarming and heartbreaking account of how two people stuck in grief finally discover the truth about themselves as well as beginning to understand each other better and deal with their pain together.
