Directed by Oli Rose, Britten in Brooklyn is based on true events of Benjamin Britten’s life when he was exiled in America and follows him as he tries to decide which way his flawed political ideals lie – but is constantly distracted by the parties and the doomed affairs as well as a mysterious stranger providing a distraction.

Meanwhile, the production will also feature the set and costume designs of Cecilia Carey, lighting design by Peter Harrison and musical direction and sound design by Dom James.

Ruby Bentall is best known for her roles in the BBC series Lark Rise to Candleford and Poldark. She has also appeared in the ITV series Jekyll & Hyde.

David Burnett’s stage roles include Mephistopheles in Faust (Greenwich Theatre/UK tour); Henry Foster in Brave New World (Royal & Derngate & tour); Best Years of Your Life and Jefferson’s Garden (Watford Palace); and Pioneer (Norwich Playhouse).

John Hollingworth has appeared on stage in productions of Playboy of the Western World, For King and Country, Power and Politics (Tricycle), Design for Living and Headlong (Old Vic) and Earthquakes in London (NT).

Playing the role of Gypsy Rose Lee, Sadie Frost has performed extensively on stage and screen. She starred in the one-woman West End play Touched…For The Very First Time, directed by Douglas Rintoul and produced by Imogen Lloyd Webber, and in 2010, acted in Fool For Love at Riverside Studios opposite The Libertine’s Carl Barat.

Meanwhile, Ryan Sampson will be playing the role of Benjamin Britten and is most recognised for his role as Grumio, a leading role in the ITV2 sitcom Plebs. On stage, he has most recently appeared as Maggio in the musical From Here To Eternity for the West End.

Britten in Brooklyn will play at the Wilton’s Music Hall from the 31st August until the 17th September. For more information and to book tickets visit: https://wiltons.org.uk/whatson/200-britten-in-brooklyn
