NEWS: Shakespeare’s Globe Announces Full Cast for Imogen

Today, the Shakespeare’s Globe has confirmed the full cast for Matthew Dunster’s production, running from the 17th September until the 16th October.

This modern and reimagined production set in London 2016, where men and violent gangs rule the streets, the voice of Imogen – who is suffocated by her father and her man has been kicked out of the town. It is her story of an attempt to reach the man that she loves.

Eastenders actress Maddy Hill, will be playing the title role of Imogen in this reimagining of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline. She will be joined by Jonathan McGuinness (Wolf Hall (BBC Two), The Bletchley Circle (ITV) and Silk (BBC).who will play Cymbeline.

Meanwhile,  Ira Mandela Siobhan will be playing the role of Posthumus, Matthew Needham will play Iachimo, Claire-Louise Cordwell as The Queen, Martin Marquez will play the role of Belarius,  William Grint plays Arviragus and Scott Karim will play Guiderius.

Further casting includes: Leila Ayad, Okorie Chukwu,  Sapphire Joy,  Erica Kouassi, Joshua Lacey,Martin Marquez, Malik-Sankara Mosiah Watson, Anwar Russell and Kai Spellman.

Imogen will feature designs by Jon Bausor, choreography by Chris Akrill, lighting by Lee Curran and sound design by George Dennis.
