James Mylne will present his biggest solo exhibition to date at The Westbank Gallery in Notting Hill from the 22nd to the 29th September. 

Consisting of entirely new works, which are inspired by the classic ideals of beauty and the paintings of 18th century French artists such as Century Watteau and Boucher.

The exhibition showcases the artist’s trademark photo-realistic ballpoint pen drawings, showing classical and baroque subjects that feature contemporary details, bringing them into a modern setting.

Examples of his work include Marie-Anne Twist , James Mylne’s take on a traditional portrait of Marie-Antoinette, which is complete with tattoos and a dog collar.

James Mylne is a London-based artist who specialises in ballpoint drawing, mixed with spray paint and ink. He graduated from Camberwell College of Arts and has been hailed as pioneer in his field.

Grandly Grimey will be on display at The Westbank Gallery London from the 22nd to the 29th September.
