The Ruby Dolls bring their fifth full-length show to London’s Camden People’s Theatre and St James Theatre as part of a UK tour, running from the 13th September until the 22nd October.
Combining cabaret with close-harmony singing, The Ruby Dolls reworks a centuries old folktale for 2016.
Examining marriage, death and female curiosity, this is a disturbing tale of a man who exists above the law and murders his wives. It will be brought to life through a mix of original songs from across a variety of genres such as folk and blues as well as original music genres, including folk, beat poetry and blues, alongside well known music from Nick Cave, Amy Winehouse and Rage Against the Machine.
The Brides of Bluebeard has been written by The Ruby Dolls and is directed by Iain Johnstone. It will be performed by Jessica Sedler, Susanna Fiore, Rebecca Shanks and Tara Siddall.
The bear is getting married. Again. And all of his previous wives have a habit of dying mysteriously… This is the folk tale Bluebeard re-wired for 2016. It’s about control, female transgression and the consequences of both. With jokes.
The Brides of Bluebeard will be on tour from the 13th September until the 22nd October. The show will be coming to the Camden People’s Theatre on the 24th-25th September and St James Theatre on the 22nd October. For more information and to book tickets visit: http://www.therubydolls.com/current-1/.
