NEWS: In the Heights Announces Final Extension

Hit musical In the Heights, currently running at the King’s Cross Theatre has announced its final extension at the theatre, booking until the 8th January 2017. 

The Olivier and Tony Award winning musical by Lin Manuel Miranda has also confirmed changes to the cast. From the 16th September, the cast will include: Arun Blair-Mangat as ‘Benny’ (“Kinky Boots”); Juliet Gough as ‘Camilla’ (“Matilda”), Stephanie Rojasas ‘Carla’ (“Wonder.land”),Sarah Naudi who has been with the show since it opened at the Southwark Playhouse in 2014, will play the role of ‘Vanessa’  and Damian Buhagiar who returns to the production to play ‘Sonny’ – the role he originated in 2014.

Having won three Olivier Awards at this year’s ceremony including Outstanding Achievement in Music and Best Choreographer, In the Heights takes audiences on a uplifting journey through Washington Heights and the lives of the people who live there.

In the Heights was conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also wrote the music and lyrics for this contemporary musical. The production features a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes and is directed by Luke Sheppard with choreography by Drew McOnie.

The musical originally opened at the southwark Playhouse in 2014, before transferring to King’s Cross Theatre, where it has remained to the delight of audiences.

In the Heights opened at Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre in 2008 and went on to be nominated for 13 Tony Awards – winning four including Best Musical and Best Choreography.
