The second run of The Pianist of Willesden Lane is now booking until the 22nd October it has been announced. It has also been confirmed that a gala performance in aid of World Jewish Relief will take place on the 13th September. 

Originally scheduled to end on the 16th October, an additional six performances have been added to the run of Hershey Felder’s production due to popular demand.

The Pianist of Willesden Lane first played at the theatre in January and February this year, performed by Mona Golabek and featuring design by Hershey Felder and Trevor Hay, lighting design by Christopher Rynne and Jason Bieber, costume design by Jaclyn Maduff, sound design by Erik Carstensen and projection design by Andrew Wilder.

Set in Vienna in 1938 and in London during the Blitz, The Pianist of Willesden Lane tells the true story of Lisa Jura, a young Jewish pianist who is dreaming about her concert debut at Vienna’s storied Musikverein concert hall. But with the issuing of new ordinances under the Nazi regime, everything for Lisa changes, except for her love of music and the pursuit of her dream – as she is torn from her family and sent onto the Kindertransport to London.

A gala performance of the production will take place on the 13th September, to raise money for World Jewish Relief’s Refugee Crisis Appeal, which is helping in Greece and Turkey by providing immediate humanitarian support such as winter clothing, emergency medical support and psycho-social support for people who have fled war-torn countries including Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.
