Frederick Ashton’s ballet is brought to life once again and opening the Royal Ballet’s new season at the Royal Opera House.

Considered to be Frederick Ashton’s is one of his best loved creations. It was his final full length ballet and was based on a 1789 French ballet originally created by Jean Dauberval and was a huge success when it originally premiered in 1960 and has remained a favourite ever since in the Royal Ballet repertoire.
