The Harry Potter star will star opposite Joshua McGuire in the 50th Anniversary production of Tom Stoppard’s play, running at the Old Vic Theatre from the 25th February until the 29th April 2017.
Daniel Radcliffe will play Rosencrantz, while Joshua McGuire will play Guildenstern in David Leveaux’s production, which was first staged in 1966.
Tom Stoppard’s play is set against the backdrop of of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, following two hapless minor characters and making them centre stage. The young double act become increasingly out of their depth, stumbling in and out of the action of this iconic drama.
Daniel Radcliffe last appeared on the London stage in 2013, in a production of The Cripple of Inishmaan at the Noel Coward Theatre.
McGuire and Radcliffe previously appeared together in the Sky Arts series A Young Doctor’s Notebook.
Joshua McGuire last appeared at the Old Vic in 2015 in a production of Future Conditional. His other credits include: Hamlet at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2011 and films such as Mike Leigh’s Mr Turner and Richard Curtis romantic comedy About Time.
