The musical based on the hit 1980’s film will return to London for a strictly limited season at the Phoenix Theatre from the 6th to the 31st December.
The production, directed by Federico Bellone, has been touring the UK and will continue to tour after its limited run at the Phoenix Theatre over Christmas.
Written by Eleanor Bergstein, the story follows ‘Baby’ and Johnny during the Summer in the 1960’s at Kellerman’s Summer camp, falling in love and discovering the power of dance. It features all the classic hits from the film including ‘Hungry Eyes’ and the iconic ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life’.
The cast will include Lewis Griffiths as Johnny Castle, Katie Hartland as Baby Bouseman, and Carlie Milner as Penny Johnson. They will be joined by Simone Craddock (Marjorie Houseman), Roger Martin (Max Kellerman), Jo Servi (Tito Suarez), Lizzie Ottley (Lisa Houseman), Michael Kent (Billy Kostecki), Greg Fossard (Neil Kellerman), Tony Stansfield (Mr Schumacher), Daniela Pobega (Elizabeth), and Camilla Rowland (Vivian).
Dirty Dancing originally opened in the West End 24 October 2006 at the Aldwych Theatre, running until the 9th July 2011.
