The hit musical featuring the music of Abba has confirmed that it will be extending its run at the Novello Theatre until the 14th October 2017. 

The news means that the musical is now booking into its 19th year, with the show celebrating its 18th birthday in London on the 6th April 2017.

Featuring music & lyrics by Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! follows the story of Sophie as she attempts to figure out who her father is by inviting all three potential fathers to her wedding. The show includes some of Abba’s biggest hits including ‘ Money, Money, Money’, ‘Dancing Queen’ and of course the title track ‘Mamma Mia!’.

Mamma Mia! originally opened at the Prince Edward Theatre on the 6th April 1999, before transferring to the Prince of Wales Theatre in 2004. It re-opened at the Novello Theatre in 2012.

The current cast includes: Linzi Hateley as Donna Sheridan, Mazz Murray as Tanya, Jo Napthineas Rosie, Sanne den Besten as Sophie Sheridan, Richard Carson as Sky, Richard Trinder as Sam, Alasdair Harvey as Harry, Dugald Bruce-Lockhart as Bill, Jemma Revell as Ali, Amy Webb as Lisa, Filippo Coffano as Pepper and Jake Small as Eddie, with Sorelle Marsh playing the role of Donna Sheridan at certain performances.

The musical is written by Catherine Johnson, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast. It features the designs of Mark Thompson, with lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken.
