PREVIEW: Boys, Lost Theatre

Ella Hickson’s dark comedy that looks at suicide arrives at the Lost Theatre this week, from the 23rd to the 26th November.

Directed by James Thacker, the play takes place on one hot summer’s night and Benny and his band of compatriots all drink to the end of an era. Benny just wants to fix everyone else’s problems and ignore his own demons at whatever the cost. But nostalgia soon turns to soul-searching and division as everyone’s dirty laundry is aired one last time.

The cast for the production includes: Ross Kernahan, Alex Bird,Gabrielle Nellis-Pain, Luke Farrugia, Henry Bauckham and  Jenna Fincken.

Ella Hickson’s play debuted in 2010 at the Soho Theatre, produced by Headlong. Her most recent play Oil is currently playing at the  Almeida Theatre.

Meanwhile, James Thacker joined Lost Theatre in 2013 as a designer and costumier, and since then has progressed to become associate director with the company. His directing credits include Omar for the 5 Minute Festival, Harold Pinter’s The Dumbwaiter for the One Act Festival, and Jez Butterworth’s Mojo in his full length directorial debut in 2015.
