It has been confirmed that Ben Forster will continue to play The Phantom in the hit musical The Phantom of the Opera until the 2nd September.
Now in its 31st year, it has been confirmed that Ben Forster will continue to play The Phantom until the 2nd September 2017 in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical.
The cast also currently includes Celinde Schoenmaker as ‘Christine Daae’ and Nadim Naaman as ‘Raoul’, Siôn Lloyd as ‘Monsieur Firmin’; Mark Oxtoby as ‘Monsieur Andre’; Paul Ettore Tabone as ‘Piangi’ and Daisy Hulbert as ‘Meg’. Also continuing their roles are: Lara Martins as ‘Carlotta’ and Jacinta Mulcahy as ‘Madame Giry’ and Harriet Jones as alternate ‘Christine Daaé’.
Ben Forster is best known for winning ITV1 show, ‘Superstar’ – Andrew Lloyd Webber’s TV talent search for ‘Jesus’ in “Jesus Christ Superstar”. His other theatre credits include: ‘Buddy’ in “Elf The Musical” and ‘Magaldi’ in “Evita” both at the Dominion Theatre. He joined the cast of The Phantom of the Opera in 2016.
October 2016 saw the West End production of the musical celebrate its 30th anniversary in a special gala performance in aid of The Music in Secondary Schools Trust. To mark this occasion, member of the current cast were joined on stage by by members of the original company and special guests for a spectacular finale, with the finale being streamed live on Facebook.
Adapted from Gaston Leroux’s novel of the same name and set in the Paris opera house, the story follows young ballet dancer Christine Daae who becomes the object of The Phantom’s secret affections with dangerous consequences for everybody at the opera house. It includes memorable songs such as “All I Ask of You”, “Think of Me”and “The Phantom of the Opera”.
