The Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park have announced casting for its upcoming production of On the Town, arriving at the theatre from the 19th May.
It has been announced that Strictly Come Dancing star Danny Mac will lead the cast in the revival of the musical directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie.
Also joining the cast will be: Fred Haig, Jeremy Taylor, Siena Kelly, Lizzy Connolly, Miriam-Teak Lee, Maggie Steed, Naoko Mori, Rodney Earl Clarke, Mark Heenehan. The ensemble will include Michelle Andrews, Myles Brown, Matthew Caputo, Edward Chitticks, Lavinia Fitzpatrick, Cristina Hoey, James Leece, Jacob Maynard, Rachel Muldoon, Melissa Nettleford, Emily Ann Potter, Mollie Melia Redgrave, Lisa Ritchie, Barnaby Thompson, Sam Salter and Brandon Lee Sears.
The musical, based on a concept by Jerome Robbins, features music by Leonard Bernstein and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Songs in the musical includes New York, New York (it’s a helluva town), I Can Cook Too, You Got Me and Lonely Town.
This revival will feature designs by Peter McKintosh with musical direction by Tom Deering, lighting design by Howard Hudson and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph.
Jeremy Taylor will play Ozzie in the production. His previous credits include Fiyero in Wicked (Victoria Apollo), We Will Rock You (Dominion), The Sound of Music (Palladium and UK tour) and Evita (UK tour).
Lizzy Connolly can be currently seen in The Wild Party at The Other Palace and has also recently appeared in Once Upon a Lifetime at the Young Vic.
