Following its successful premiere at the Southwark Playhouse, the Off West End nominated show will transfer to the Arts Theatre from the 28th September.
Playing for a strictly limited season, The Toxic Avenger was created by the Tony Award-winning creative team behind the smash hit West End musical Memphis Joe DiPietro and David Bryan.
Toxie is a seven-foot mutant freak with superhuman strength and a supersized heart to match. He’s out to save New Jersey, end global warming, win the heart of the prettiest (blindest) librarian in town and get home in time for dinner in this toxic love story with an environmental twist.
The musical, directed by Benji Sperring, is based on Lloyd Kaufman’s cult 1984 comedy and tells the story of the citizens of Tromaville, who are crying out for a hero.
Casting for the transfer has yet to be announced. The creative team includes lighting by Nic Farman and choreography by Lucie Pankhurst and is produced by Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment and Derek Nicol and Paul Walden for Flying Entertainment.
The Toxic Avenger will play at The Arts Theatre from the 28th September until the 3rd December. To book tickets visit: Discount Theatre.com , Theatre People.com and UK Tickets.co.uk.
