This live performance from Chris Ingham’s REBOP will take place on the 28th June at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho.
Following their previously sold out London shows, Chris Ingham’s sextet REBOP returns to the capital to perform music released by the Blue Note label, adding their own vision and style.
Having been formed in 1939, the Blue Note Label’s most popular era was the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s. During that period, it was a time when the diversification of the hard bop style into modal post-bop and soul-jazz that was to be heard on records released by the likes of Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, Art Blakey& The Jazz Messengers, Hank Mobley, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock as well as many others.
Now Chris Ingham’s REPOP will offer audiences an opportunity to revisit the music released by the label in this live performance that will take place at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho.
REBOB’s previous London shows have concentrated on the music of Miles Davis and Horace Silver, as well as working on their ever-evolving, wide-ranging modern jazz selection.
The sextet is formed of Pianist Chris Ingham, Paul Higgs (trumpet), Colin Watling (tenor saxophone), Kevin Flanagan (alto saxophone), Robert Rickenberg (bass) and George Double (drums).
