This new exhibition at the Museum of London will invite visitors to explore the joys and challenges of urban living.

This new display formed of digital and physical interactives and films will tackle issues such as affordable housing, effective urban planning, transport, air quality and  green space to present the challenges and the solutions communities have created to deal with these issues.

The interactive exhibition has been created by the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris and will be spread across three of the museum’s temporary exhibition spaces.

Exploring the changes happening to cities across the world and how their inhabitants are adapting in response, The City is Ours looks at how governments and communities are coming together to make cities become cleaner and healthier environments.

Highlights of the exhibition will include:

Talking about the exhibition, Sharon Ament, Director of the Museum of London, said: “Urban populations have skyrocketed in recent years, from just over 30% in 1950 to a projected 70% by 2050. In London too, recent estimates predict that its population will grow to nearly 10 million by 2024. In this age of the city we’re asking: what does the future hold for these urban metropolises and how can we contribute to their sustainability and survival?”

The City is Ours will open to the public from the 14th July and will be on display until the 2nd January 2018. For more information visit: https://www.museumoflondon.org.uk/museum-london/whats-on/exhibitions/the-city-is-ours
