The alternative French wine bar and cafe based in Old Street starts its ‘tour de France’ with a selection of Rosés wines and specialities from Provence.
Taking place over the course of a year, Papilles Wine Bar will highlight the specialities from different regions across France, beginning with the region of Provence.
In order to celebrate this, the bar will host a variety of events to celebrate the regions individuality including a rosé wine tasting featuring distinct rosés from the main appellations of the region. Flights of rosés will be available from the Coteaux d’Aix en Provence, Coteaux Varois, Côtes de Provence, and Côtes de Provence St Victoire appellations. The wines are paired with a selection of traditional Provençal tapas, celebrating the region’s individuality.
The ‘Tour de Provence’ will finish with a Provencal themed party on Friday 21 July offering an evening of rosé wine, pastis, Provençal tapas, and the French game pétanque to champion all things Provence.
Anne Roque, Fine Wine Manager and Co-Owner of Papilles said, “For us Papilles is more than café or wine bar. Our aim is to share our love for wine by allowing drinkers to experiment with new and exciting wines from the different regions of France.”
The next regions to feature in the great ‘Tour de France’ will include the Loire Valley in September followed by Burgundy and South West France.
Founded in 2015 by French husband and wife team Anne Roque and Jonathan Dupont, Papilles offers a selection of ‘Frapas’ (French Tapas) as well as a variety of wines produced by French winemakers from France and around the world. Papilles originated as a cafe, before expanding into a venue for ‘before and after work’.
