Casting for the lead roles in the upcoming production of Fever Pitch the Opera, playing at the Union Chapel from the 22nd September, has been announced.
This new production will mark the 25th anniversary since the book was published and is the first musical adaptation of the story, with author Nick Hornby giving his blessing to Highbury Opera Theatre to create and perform an original musical production based on the novel, which explores the author’s obsession with Arsenal Football Club.
Fever Pitch the Opera follows the ups and downs of life supporting Arsenal Football Club, intertwining stories of matches and the fortunes of the club with those of his own life as a writer.
Directed by Bernie C. Byrnes and conducted by Scott Stroman, Fever Pitch the Opera features a libretto by Tamsin Collison.
The production is set to star Robin Bailey as Gooner, Nick Allen as Rat, Mezzo-Soprano Joanna Harries will perform as Girl and Robert Gildon will play Gooner’s father with further casting to be announced.
Fever Pitch the Opera is being presented by Highbury Opera Theatre which was formed in 2011 to bring professionals, amateurs and children together to create exciting performances of contemporary music theatre in Union Chapel and the area.
