The London theatre has announced that three concert-style workshop performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical will take place between the 14th and 16th September.
With tickets released today, the performances will see members of the original creative team of Starlight Express reuniting again as well as a group of carefully selected actors and musicians to explore the musical afresh.
Starlight Express originally opened in the West End in 1984, where it ran for over 7000 performances. It still continues to perform at the purpose built venue in Bochum, Germany which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2018.
These special performances of the musical will see Andrew Lloyd Webber and the rest of the creative team working on the show during the day before the evening performances, allowing them to respond to the audience’s reaction as well as looking at the musical from a new perspective.
