NEWS: Nina Sosanya to Star Alongside Suranne Jones in Frozen

Nina Sosanya joins the cast for Jonathan Munby’s production, playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from the 9th February.

The W1A and Last Tango In Halifax actress will star alongside Suranne Jones and (Doctor Foster) and Jason Watkins (Line Of Duty) in the upcoming production of Bryony Lavery’s award winning play.

One sunny evening a young girl walks to visit her Grandma, she never arrives. A play about retribution, remorse and redemption, Frozen explores the interwoven lives of three strangers as they try to make sense of the unimaginable.

Commissioned by the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Frozen won the TMA Best Play Award and the Eileen Anderson Central Television Award.

Having been nominated for four Tony awards during its run on Broadway, the play will be directed in the West End by Jonathan Munby for a limited season. It will feature designs by Paul Wills, lighting by Jon Clark, video design by Luke Halls and sound by Christopher Shutt.

Suranne Jones can currently be seen in the second series of Doctor Foster on BBC 1. Her stage credits include  A Few Good Men at Theatre Royal Haymarket with Rob Lowe, Blithe Spirit and Terms of Endearment.

Jason Watkins is known for his performance in the title role in acclaimed drama The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, for which he won Best Actor at the 2015 BAFTA Television Awards. His theatre credits include The Late Henry Moss by  Sam Shepard at the Almeida Theatre and A Farewell to the Theatre at the Hampstead Theatre.

Sosanya will play the role of Agnetha in the production and marks her  return to the West End stage for the first time since starring in the National Theatre’s Chekhov season last year.
