NEWS: Tom Fletcher Releases New Video ‘Afraid of Heights’ From Christmasaurus Live

Tom Fletcher has released a brand new music video to accompany the release of The Musical Edition of his hit novel ‘The Christmasaurus’.

One of the new 14 songs taken from the cd The Christmasaurus, ‘Afraid of Heights’ now has a video to accompany it which is based on the true story of teenager Lily Rice, who is the first European female to perform a backflip in a wheelchair. She accomplished this feat in Cardiff after 6 hours of practicing.

Lily, who stars in the video alongside Tom has a condition called hereditary spastic paraplegia, which causes rigidity and tightness in the muscles of the lower body. She now hopes to take part in the Wheelchair Motocross Championship in California next year.

Talking about the video, the author and singer said: “I’m so incredibly honoured that Lily agreed to star in the official music video for Afraid of Heights. I’m incredibly proud of this song. It is written for a pivotal moment in The Christmasaurus and Lily perfectly exemplifies everything that The Christmasaurus represents. I hope our video, based on true events, does her story justice. Thanks to Lily, who most definitely is NOT afraid of heights!”

The musical edition of The Christmasaurus includes both the story and the a brand new 14 track CD and is the first time an author has included a soundtrack to their book.

All of the tracks featured on the CD have been written and performed by Tom, who is also accompanied by a full orchestra, as well as solos from Giovanna Fletcher, Carrie Hope-Fletcher and Santa Claus.

Harry Judd, Matt Willis, his wife Giovanna Fletcher and his sister Carrie Hope Fletcher will all be appearing alongside Tom in The Christmasaurus stage show, which arrives at the Eventim Apollo London for a special Christmas spectacular, for a strictly limited run from 21 – 28 December 2017. Featuring the all new songs, ‘The Christmasaurus – Live’ is directed by Derek Bond and has been adapted for stage by Miranda Larson. The stage show will feature sleigh bells and singing elves, Santa Claus and flying reindeer, music and magic. It’s a tale about adventure, family, friendship and discovering that the impossible might just be possible.

The Christmasaurus Musical Edition is out now. Meanwhile, The Christmasaurus Live On Stage  will play at the Eventim Apollo from the 21st to the 28th December. To book tickets visit: Ticketmaster.co.uk
