Rehearsal images for Tatty Hennessy’s production of As You Like it for Shakespeare in the Squares have been released. Here’s a glimpse of what has been happening…
Performed in London’s squares and parks from 20 June to 13 July, Shakespeare in the Squares will present William Shakespeare’s As You Like it as its 2018 Summer production, directed by Tatty Hennessy.
Shakespeare’s enchanting comedy of love, desire and mistaken identity, is set on the brink of the Seventies, during the first Glastonbury Festival. As Shakespeare’s characters flee from the rigidity of the court to the Forest of Arden, audiences too can exchange the conformity of city life for a pastoral utopia where hippies and freethinkers meet to dance, love and put the world to rights.
The cast for the production includes: Jack Brett (Orlando), Comfort Fabian (Celia), Jodie Jacobs (Audrey/Adam), Sian Martin (Jaques), Katharine Moraz (Rosalind), Stanton Plummer Cambridge (Oliver/Corin), Julia Righton (Duchess Senior/ Duchess Frederick), Sydney K. Smith (Touchstone) Emmy Stonelake (Phoebe/Amiens) and Lamin Touray (Charles/Silvius).

Shakespeare in the Squares was founded in 2016 by Sue Fletcher and Martin Neild to tour a Shakespeare play across London’s squares every Summer. Each production is tailored to suit each square it visits, working with the garden committees and other local organisations to create a unique community celebration around the play.
