Presenters for this years The Stage Debut Awards have been announced, ahead of the ceremony taking place on the 23rd September.
It has been announced that this year’s ceremony will be hosted by star of the stage and screen Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife/Fight, Josephine and I, Common) when it takes place this weekend.
Other presenters at the awards ceremony will include Adrian Lester OBE, Jodie Prenger, Ruthie Henshall, Mathew Horne, Michael Grandage, Preeya Kalidas, James Graham and Paule Constable.
The ceremony will also feature exclusive performances from Anais Mitchell performing Why We Build A Wall from Hadestown and Miriam-Teak Lee performing I’m Here from The Color Purple.
Talking about the news, Cush Jumbo said “I’m thrilled to be hosting the second The Stage Debut Awards this year. I’m very passionate about the continuing need to support emerging talent and champion our rising stars whether they be actors, directors, writers or designers. These awards celebrate new voices in a huge way.”
The Stage Debut Awards celebrate the very best breakthrough talent in theatre, from actors and directors to designers, writers, composers and lyricists, all of whom have made their professional debuts in the past year.
This year’s nominees include debut talent from shows across the UK, as well as more experienced performers making their West End debuts, such as Bryan Cranston, Kelli O’Hara and Aidan Turner.
The ceremony taking place in central London will also be live streamed on The Stage’s Facebook page from 8.30pm on Sunday 23, 2018.
