Rehearsals have begun for Kiln Theatre’s next production White Teeth which opens for previews at the theatre from the 26th October. Here’s a glimpse of what has been happening…
Rosie Jones, the Iqbal twins, their parents, their grandparents, Mad Mary and an avalanche of other characters who make up the everyday chaos of Kilburn High Road come together in an extraordinary revelry of NW6. An epic comedy with music and dance, this theatrical rollercoaster takes us on a fast-paced journey through history, different cultures and chance encounters.
Adapted from Zadie Smith’s novel by Stephen Sharkey, White Teeth focuses on British relationships with people from formerly colonised countries in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean.
This world premiere production is directed by Indhu Rubasingham and stars Amanda Wilkin, Assad Zaman, Nenda Neurer, Karl Queensborough, Sid Sagar, Zoe West, Naomi Frederick, Ayesha Dharker, Tony Jayawardena, Richard Lumsden, Philip Bird, Matthew Churcher, Michele Austin and Ayesha Antoine.
The production features designs by Tom Piper, lighting by Oliver Fenwick, sound design by Carolyn Downing, musical direction by Chris Traves and video design by Lizzie Pocock.
