NEWS: Ice-Themed Activities Announced for Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland

Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland has announced a range of ice themed activities for visitors to enjoy as part of this year’s festival which opens next month.

Running from the 22nd November, brand new attractions at this year’s Winter Wonderland is set to include The Magical Ice Kingdom Presents: The Secret Forest, Peter Pan On Ice, a 45m long ice slide, ice sculpting workshops and an 85m long ice trike trail. Meanwhile, favourite attractions such as  Ice Rink with Sky Kids – the UK’s largest open air ice rink, and the ‘coolest’ hangout in town – Bar Ice will also return for visitors to enjoy.

The UK’s biggest ice rink has been supersized for 2018, measuring at over 1,765m2, it is surrounded by peaceful surrounding of the park and covered in twinkly lights to provide festive fun whether with friends or family. The ice skating lessons are set to take place on the hour, every hour throughout the day.

Elsewhere, the much-loved Magical Ice Kingdom returns for 2018 with a brand new and hugely anticipated theme – The Secret Forest. Visitors will be able to wonder through the experience, made from more than 500 tonnes of ice and snow in -10C temperatures and telling the story of The Earth Spirit, who rises from her mountain home to awaken the magical creatures of the secret forest.

This experience has in turn inspired Winter Wonderland to host Ice Sculpting Workshops, new  for 2018. Christmas crafters can try their hand at creating their very own masterpiece in a bespoke sculpting studio. Under the expert guidance and instruction of the UK’s finest ice artists, guests will be given personal training on how to bring to life their beautiful ice creations. Each lesson lasts thirty minutes.

For those looking to rest and have a drink, they can pay a visit to  Hyde Park Winter Wonderland’s Bar Ice. With the tables, chairs and even glasses all sculpted entirely from ice, guests can sip on a complimentary festive cocktail which is included in the admission price.

Other events that visitors can experience includes Peter Pan on Ice, bringing the classic story to life in a unique way. Elsewhere, Winter Wonderland have announced the inclusion of a 45m long Ice Slide to allow visitors to get a taste of alpine mountain fun, while Ice Trike Trail, suitable for kids over the age of six, it will allow young visitors to scoot  round the 85m ice track on an Ice Trike, under a canopy of twinkling fairy lights and Christmas trees.
