Running at the Hackney Showrooms from the 13th to the 23rd December, Pop Up Screens invite audiences back for another Cinema in the Snow experience. 


Pop Up Screens are inviting audiences to step through the wardrobe this festive season for its Cinema in the Snow experience to watch your favourite festive films including  Love Actually, Elf and Home Alone. 

Transforming the Hackney Studios into an Alpine winter wonderland, Pop Up Screens have created a unique take on the world of Narnia that audience member will have to wonder through before settling down to watch a favourite Christmas film.

Screenings taking place this year will include Home Alone, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, The Chronicles of Narnia and of course, Elf. Feel-good romantic comedy The Holiday and cinematic Christmas royalty, It’s A Wonderful Life, have been added to the Christmas programme this year due to popular demand.

Talking about Cinema in the Show, Pop Up Screens founder David Leydon says: “Our ‘Cinema in the Snow’ is all about making film watching memorable and exciting for the whole family. We’re excited to have added matinee screenings to proceedings this year so kids and parents of all ages can come and enjoy our Narnia inspired set. When you were 5, you wanted to climb into your wardrobe and find something amazing at the back of it – now you finally can!”

19th December: The Muppet Christmas Carol/ Elf 

20th December: The Santa Clause/Love Actually 

21st December: Miracle on 34th Street/ The Holiday 

22nd December: It’s a Wonderful Life/ Home Alone/Elf

23rd December: The Muppet Christmas Carol/ Elf/ Love Actually
