Hackney’s independent craft brewing company has announced a charity event to help raise money for the charity Headway East London.
Taking place on the 23rd January at The Pembury Tavern, Five Points Brewing Company invites people to come along and go head to head with Headway East London and take on the charities unbeaten members, in a night of beer and board games.
From Connect Four to Dominoes, guests are invited to indulge in some old-school, brain-stimulating board game fun in exchange for a donation and to find out more about the charity, which supports people affected by brain injury.
Meanwhile, for those with a competitive streak Five Points and Headway East London will be hosting a ‘Challenge Headway’, whereby the public can take on their members for a chance to win a free beer. Guests will also be able to take part in a charity raffle and will have the opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind artwork, made by the Headway East London members.
Since being formed in 2013, Five Points part of the company’s ethos has always been to contribute to both the local and wider community around them. Each year they partner with two local charities, to support their fundraising efforts; in 2018, one of these was Headway East London. This final event culminates in a battle of the board games, along with beer, pizza and music provided by the charity.
With music and art at the heart of HEL, the charity will also be providing music throughout the night, dusting off the vinyl decks for some old school classics – with guests being encouraged to bring their own vinyl records too.
Talking about the event Ed Mason, Co-Founder and Managing Director of The Five Points Brewing Company said: “We are incredibly grateful for the support of our local community and would love for everyone to come along to the event; enjoy some great beer, traditional board games, and join us in supporting this brilliant charity.”
